Rebates and Incentives
These are programs the manufacturer offers to both the dealer and the consumer to generate more sales on their new cars. Because there's no money like free money, check current new car Rebates and Incentives to see if you can save by buying a car right now.
These programs are broken down into two major types
- Manufacturer to Dealer - These programs are offered by the manufacturer as marketing support for the dealership to use in selling their cars. These are also known as Dealer Cash Incentives.
- Manufacturer to the Consumer - YOU! - These are provided at the point of sale to reduce your price. Many times the customer will use this as a down payment. Our system teaches you to have it sent directly to your home and then you negotiate for the price of the vehicle separately - DO NOT include this Rebate in your negotiations.
All of the Rebate and Incentive listings that are available are somewhat similar in that it is not possible for them to keep "up to the minute current" on what is available. There is every attempt to keep the lists up to date. However, the markets change rapidly and many regional programs may not be included. Rebates in Texas, for instance, can be dramatically different from the rebates being offered nationally or in your area.
Manufacturers can add or change rebates in a matter of moments by sending out an announcement to all franchises via fax. This info is then updated to these sites as it becomes available. This is why it is important for you to be sure to ask the dealer if there are any and of course, check with Carthority and you can check the actual Manufacturer's site.
By using these Rebates and Incentives to your advantage it represents another way to further save money on your next new car purchase. It is also important to remember, to keep these "extra" bonuses and incentives SEPARATE from the actual negotiation of the vehicle price. Do this and you are guaranteed to pay the best price you can.
